Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
Your Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy boots are ready to wear straight out of the box. Simply lace them up securely to achieve a snug, comfortable fit. A proper fit is crucial for maximizing the benefits of the NikeSkin upper and Zoom Air cushioning.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed and optimized for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This means they are best suited for wet, natural grass fields where the longer, metal-tipped studs can penetrate the surface to provide maximum grip and stability. Using these boots on Artificial Grass (AG), Firm Ground (FG), or indoor surfaces is not recommended, as it can damage the studs and soleplate, reduce performance, and may void any warranty.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After every match or training session, remove excess mud and dirt from the soleplate and upper. Use a soft brush or a damp cloth to gently wipe clean.
- Air Dry: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause the materials to crack or stiffen.
- Inspect Studs: Regularly check the metal-tipped studs for wear or damage. Remember that replacement studs and the stud key are sold separately.
- Refer to Product Label: Always consult the product label inside the boot for any specific care instructions from Nike.
