Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup (Wearing)
- Preparation: Before wearing, hang the dress to allow any creases from storage or transit to naturally fall out. For deeper creases, use a garment steamer on a low setting, keeping the steamer head a few inches from the fabric. Avoid direct iron contact.
- Undergarments: Select seamless, nude-colored undergarments to ensure a smooth line under the satin fabric.
- Donning the Dress: Carefully step into the dress and gently pull it up. Ensure the asymmetric neckline and cape are positioned correctly over the shoulder.
Compatibility
- Accessories: Best paired with minimalist jewelry to emphasize the dress's unique design. Simple stud earrings, a delicate bracelet, or rings are ideal. Avoid statement necklaces that clash with the one-shoulder style.
- Outerwear: If an additional layer is needed, choose a structured blazer or a light, flowing wrap or stole in a complementary color or neutral tone that doesn't obscure the cape detail.
- Footwear: Heels or elegant dress flats are suitable, depending on the venue and personal preference. Ensure shoe height allows the maxi length to skim the floor without dragging.
Care Instructions
Maintaining the luxurious look of your satin dress requires gentle care:
- Washing: Hand wash cold with a mild detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Alternatively, dry clean only. Avoid machine washing if possible, as it can damage the delicate satin fibers.
- Drying: Do not tumble dry. Gently squeeze excess water and lay flat on a clean, dry towel, or hang to air dry on a padded hanger away from direct sunlight or heat.
- Ironing/Steaming: Use a steamer on a low setting or iron on the coolest silk/satin setting from the inside out, placing a clean cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent scorching or shine marks.
- Storage: Store on a padded hanger in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust, snags, and creasing. Avoid overcrowding your closet.
- Stain Removal: Act quickly on spills. Gently blot (do not rub) with a clean, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, consult a professional dry cleaner.
