FAQs

Is the Lancôme Lip Idôle CuddleBlur transfer-proof?

It offers long-lasting wear, but as a velvet matte cream, it is not completely transfer-proof like a liquid matte lipstick.

Does it contain ingredients for hydration?

Yes, it is infused with squalane to help maintain hydration and keep the lips soft.

How long does the scent last?

The scent of buttery popcorn and caramel is most noticeable during application and fades shortly after the product sets on the lips.

Can I use a lip liner with this?

Absolutely. Using a coordinating lip liner can help define the edges and increase the longevity of the velvet matte finish.

Is this formula drying?

No, it is specifically formulated to provide a matte finish without the drying effect typical of many traditional matte lip products.

Troubleshooting

Color appears patchy or uneven

Ensure your lips are properly exfoliated before application; avoid applying over thick balms or oils.

Product feels too intense or bright

Apply a small amount to the center of the lips and tap outward with your finger for a soft, diffused look.

Lip cream drying out in the tube

Always ensure the cap is clicked shut properly to prevent air exposure.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides a smooth, velvet matte finish without feeling dry
  • Long-lasting wear of up to 12 hours
  • Blurs visible lip lines for a youthful look
  • Comfortable, non-tightening formula

Cons

  • The popcorn and caramel scent may be too strong for some users
  • Requires careful application to achieve the desired soft-blur effect
  • Formula is transfer-prone compared to liquid matte lip stains

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best application, prep your lips by ensuring they are clean and free of heavy oils or waxes. If your lips are exceptionally dry, a light exfoliation followed by a lip balm (blotted off thoroughly) can create the perfect canvas.

For maintenance, store the lip cream in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the integrity of the squalane and pigment stability. The cap should be snapped shut firmly after every use to prevent the creamy formula from drying out. While it is designed for long wear, a simple makeup remover or oil-based cleanser is recommended to effectively remove all pigment at the end of the day.
