Clydesdales are large, strong horses with characteristic features like slightly curved noses, long ears, and short necks. They have a friendly temperament and are industrious and versatile. Shoeing a Clydesdale is hard work for a farrier, as their horseshoes are extremely large and weigh over 2.5 kg, four to five times that of warmbloods or thoroughbreds. Despite their stocky and heavy build, Clydesdales move elegantly, famous for lifting their beautiful white legs high and with great force. This makes them suitable for draught work, shows, and street parades.
