Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Birkenstocks last for years, proper care is essential. Upon first wear, utilize the adjustable strap to find a secure but comfortable setting—the foot should be held snugly but not restricted. As the cork footbed is a natural material, avoid leaving the clogs in direct heat sources like radiators or inside hot vehicles, as this can cause the cork to dry out or crack. To clean the suede upper, use a specialized suede brush to gently lift dirt and maintain the nap. If the cork edges begin to look dry over time, a thin application of cork sealer can help protect the material from moisture and crumbling.
