FAQs
Are these gloves suitable for road cycling?
While designed for mountain biking, their ergonomic fit and comfort make them a great choice for road cyclists who prefer a lightweight, non-padded glove.
Do these gloves have padding?
The Fox Ranger MTB Gloves prioritize dexterity and bar feel, so they feature minimal palm padding compared to dedicated downhill or touring gloves.
Can I machine wash them?
We recommend hand washing. If you must use a machine, use a delicate cycle in a laundry bag, though this may shorten the lifespan of the material.
Are they waterproof?
No, these are made from nylon and are not waterproof. They are breathable and designed to dry relatively quickly.
Is the sizing consistent for men and women?
Yes, these are designed as a unisex fit; however, always refer to the specific sizing guide for measurements as hand shapes vary significantly.
Troubleshooting
Touch screen not responding
Ensure your fingers are positioned correctly on the screen and wipe the glove tip clean if it has become saturated with sweat or dirt.
Closure keeps coming undone
Check the hook and loop strip for debris or dirt; clean the fabric with a small brush to restore the adhesive bond.
Gloves feel slippery on grips
Wash the gloves to remove dried sweat and oil buildup which can reduce grip effectiveness.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent tactile feedback for precise bike handling
- Reliable touch screen compatibility
- Secure and adjustable low-profile cuff
- Built-in micro-suede thumb for convenience
- High-value performance for all-day riding
Cons
- Minimal impact protection for technical downhill
- May be too thin for extreme cold weather riding
- Limited ventilation compared to specialized summer racing gloves
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure a proper fit, measure your hand circumference and consult the sizing chart. Use the hook and loop closure to adjust the cuff tension to your preference, ensuring it is secure but does not restrict blood flow.
Care Instructions:
- Hand wash using mild soap and cool water.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softeners as these can damage the conductive threads.
- Lay flat to dry in a shaded area away from direct heat sources.
- Avoid machine washing and tumble drying to maintain the integrity of the nylon fibers.
