Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from any grease, oil, or old glue. Lightly sand the wood for better adhesion.
- Application: Apply a thin, even layer of Titebond III to one or both surfaces. For porous wood, apply a slightly heavier coat.
- Assembly: Join the pieces within 5-10 minutes. Clamp the pieces together firmly for the recommended clamping time (as specified on the product). Use clamps or weights to maintain pressure.
- Cleanup: Remove any excess glue with a damp cloth before it dries.
- Curing: Allow the glue to cure completely before stressing the joint. Full bond strength is typically achieved within 24 hours.
Compatibility: Titebond III is compatible with most wood species. Not recommended for use with materials other than wood. Test on a small, inconspicuous area before applying to a large project.
Care: Store Titebond III in a cool, dry place. Avoid freezing. If the glue thickens, add a small amount of water (no more than 5%) and mix thoroughly.
