FAQs
How often does the robot self-empty?
The robot automatically empties its onboard dust cup into the self-empty base after each cleaning cycle. The base itself can hold up to 60 days of dirt and debris.
Is this robot vacuum good for pet hair?
Yes, the Shark PowerDetect Robot Vacuum is specifically designed for homes with pets. It features powerful suction for pet hair pick-up and an Anti-Hair Wrap Plus brush roll that prevents hair tangles.
How does the robot map my home?
It uses 360° LiDAR navigation technology to quickly and accurately map every inch of your home. This allows it to clean methodically, avoid objects, and adapt to changes.
Can I set no-go zones?
Yes, using the SharkClean app, you can edit your home map, set up custom cleaning schedules, target specific spots, and create 'no-go zones' to restrict the robot from certain areas.
How long does the battery last on a single charge?
The robot offers up to 110 minutes of run-time when operating in low suction mode on hard floors. Run-time may vary based on suction mode, floor type (e.g., carpet), and cleaning intensity.
How do I maintain the anti-odour technology?
The anti-odour technology uses a cartridge located in the self-empty base. This cartridge will need to be replaced periodically as indicated by the SharkClean app or when you notice odors returning.
Does it work on thick carpets?
Yes, its NeverStuck Technology actively lifts and lowers the robot, allowing it to maneuver over thick carpets and thresholds, ensuring more thorough cleaning coverage.
What is the warranty period for this product?
The Shark PowerDetect Robot Vacuum comes with a 2-year guarantee upon registration with Shark.
Troubleshooting
Robot not turning on or charging.
Ensure the self-empty base is securely plugged into a working outlet. Confirm the robot is correctly docked on the charging contacts. The robot may need a few hours to charge fully for the first time.
Robot frequently getting stuck or not covering entire areas.
Clear potential obstacles like loose cables, small rugs, or clutter from the robot's path. Verify that NeverStuck Technology is functioning by ensuring the robot can lift and lower. In the SharkClean app, check your home map for any unmapped areas or set up 'no-go zones' around problematic spots.
Poor cleaning performance or leaving debris behind.
Empty the self-empty base and robot dust cup. Clean the anti-hair wrap brush roll, side brushes, and check for any blockages in the suction inlet. Ensure the robot's sensors are clean and free of dust or debris.
Bad odor coming from the self-empty base.
Check the anti-odour cartridge in the base; it may need to be replaced. Ensure the base's dustbin is not overly full and clean it thoroughly if necessary.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack and Place Base: Choose a location for the self-empty base with good Wi-Fi signal, clear of obstacles (ideally 3 feet on either side and in front). Plug in the base.
- Install Robot Components: Insert the anti-odour cartridge and attach the side brushes to the robot.
- Charge Robot: Place the robot onto the base to charge fully before the first use (indicated by a solid blue light).
- Download App: Download the SharkClean app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot to your home Wi-Fi network and begin mapping your home.
- Initial Mapping: Allow the robot to complete an initial mapping run of your home. This helps it learn the layout for efficient cleaning.
Compatibility:
- App Control: Compatible with the SharkClean app on iOS and Android devices.
- Floor Types: Optimized for both hard floors (wood, tile, laminate) and carpets (low to thick pile).
- Obstacle Navigation: Designed to navigate over thresholds and obstacles up to a certain height thanks to NeverStuck Technology.
Care:
- Self-Empty Base: The base holds up to 60 days of debris, but periodically check the dustbin level and empty as needed. The anti-allergen filter inside the base should be checked and cleaned or replaced according to the app's recommendations or every 6-12 months.
- Anti-Odour Cartridge: Replace the anti-odour cartridge as indicated by the app or when odors persist.
- Robot Dust Cup: While the robot self-empties, occasionally check the robot's onboard dust cup for any stubborn debris or blockages.
- Sensors and Brushes: Regularly wipe the robot's sensors with a dry cloth. Check and clean the side brushes and the Anti-Hair Wrap Plus brush roll for any entangled debris or hair.
- Wheels: Clean any hair or debris from the robot's wheels to ensure smooth movement.
