The Polo Ralph Lauren Gorham Down Jacket is designed for adult males seeking a stylish and warm outerwear option. Its key benefit is superior insulation with 750 fill power down and a water-repellent ripstop exterior, keeping you protected in various conditions. A minor caveat is that it is a specialized garment, best suited for colder weather and not intended for highly active pursuits where breathability is paramount.

750 fill power indicates the quality and loft of the down. Higher fill power means the down is lighter, more compressible, and provides better insulation for its weight compared to lower fill power down.
The jacket features a water-repellent ripstop fabric, which is suitable for light rain or snow. For prolonged exposure to heavy downpours, a waterproof outer layer would be more appropriate.
For long-term storage, it is best to hang the jacket loosely in a breathable garment bag or on a hanger. Avoid compressing it tightly in a bag, as this can damage the down's loft and reduce its insulating ability over time.
Yes, the jacket is designed for cold weather. For extreme cold, layering additional warm clothing underneath, such as a fleece or a thermal base layer, is recommended.
The main fabric of the jacket is 100% recycled polyester. The lining is 100% polyamide, and the padding consists of 90% down and 10% feathers.
The jacket features adjustable hook-and-loop tabs on the cuffs and a drawstring hem, allowing you to customize the fit to better trap heat and block out drafts.
While the jacket offers warmth and mobility for casual activities, it is not specifically designed for high-intensity athletic pursuits. Its insulation might be too warm, and breathability might be limited for strenuous exercise.
Ensure all zippers are fully closed and the drawstring hem is tightened. Check that the jacket is not overly compressed, which can reduce the loft and insulating properties of the down. If the jacket has been washed, ensure it is fully dry and has been tumble-dried on low with tennis balls to re-fluff the down.
Gently try to move the zipper up and down. If it remains stiff, apply a small amount of graphite from a pencil lead or a specialized zipper lubricant to the teeth. Avoid forcing the zipper, as this can cause damage.
A small amount of down leakage can be normal, especially when the jacket is new. Gently pull the feather back through the fabric from the inside if possible. If significant leakage occurs, it may indicate a manufacturing defect and you should contact customer support.
Ensure the jacket is completely dry before storing. If the musty smell persists, it may not have been dried thoroughly enough. Re-tumble dry on a low setting with dryer balls or tennis balls. Ensure the washing machine was also clean before washing.
