Papo 55062 Articulated jaw Acrocanthosaurus Figure. Hand painted figurine, designed, drawn, and developed in France. Ideal support for games and imaginative play. Papo is world-renowned for their beautiful lifelike figures. The Acrocanthosaurus, of the theropods family, was a large bipedal predator that could measure up to 12 meters long and weigh 7.2 tons. Its name means 'high thorns', referring to the spines ending its vertebrae, which are assumed to have allowed long chains of muscle to be attached to the back, hips, and predator's neck. It also had a long and powerful tail to counterbalance its head and body, as well as small forelimbs ideal for capturing and holding prey during the hunt. With the Papo Dinosaurs collection, tread the Jurassic earth, meet the legendary T-Rex, walk through vast plains with the Velociraptor, or fly with a Pteranodon.
