FAQs
What type of playing surface are these boots designed for?
The adidas F50 Elite FG boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces, which are typically natural grass pitches that are dry and firm.
How do I choose between the two included sockliners (SL and Comfort)?
The SL (Superlight) sockliner is for players prioritizing pure speed and a closer-to-the-ground feel. The Comfort sockliner offers extra cushioning and impact absorption for enhanced comfort, especially during longer play sessions or for players who prefer more padding.
Is it normal for the soleplate's lacquer to wear off?
Yes, it is normal for the lacquer finish on the bottom of the Sprintframe 360 soleplate to wear off during play. This is a cosmetic change and does not affect the boot's performance or durability.
How should I clean my adidas F50 Elite FG boots?
After use, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt. For tougher mud, a soft brush can be used. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and avoid direct heat.
What is the benefit of Sprintweb 3D texturing?
Sprintweb 3D texturing enhances ball contact across the boot's upper, providing superior grip and precision. This helps players maintain better control of the ball when dribbling at high speeds, passing, and shooting.
Are these boots suitable for all weather conditions?
While designed for firm ground, their performance is optimal in dry to slightly damp conditions. In very wet or muddy conditions, a boot designed for soft ground (SG) with longer, conical studs would typically offer better traction.
How lightweight are the F50 Elite FG boots?
These boots are notably lightweight, weighing approximately 185g, designed to contribute to maximum speed and agility on the pitch.
Troubleshooting
Lacquer finish on soleplate is wearing off.
This is a normal cosmetic occurrence explicitly mentioned by the manufacturer. It will not affect the performance, grip, or durability of the boot. Continue using the boots as intended.
Boots feel too tight or loose.
First, adjust the lacing to ensure a secure, yet comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing patterns if needed. Second, try swapping the sockliner: if too tight, ensure the SL sockliner is in place for a minimal feel; if too loose or needing more cushioning, try the Comfort sockliner.
Poor ball control despite Sprintweb 3D.
Ensure the surface of the boot, especially the Sprintweb 3D textured areas, is clean and free of mud or debris. A clean surface allows the texturing to grip the ball effectively. Also, ensure your laces are securely tied for maximum lockdown, which translates to better touch and control.
Loss of balance or stability during quick cuts.
Verify that your boots are the correct size and fit securely. A boot that is too large can lead to instability. Ensure your laces are tightly secured to activate the Compression Fit Tunnel Tongue and external heel counter, providing optimal lockdown and support for your foot during agile movements.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Choose Your Sockliner: Before first use, decide which sockliner best suits your needs. The SL (Superlight) sockliner offers a direct, minimalist feel, ideal for pure speed. The Comfort sockliner provides extra cushioning and impact absorption for enhanced comfort over longer periods. Simply insert your preferred sockliner into each boot.
- Lacing: Utilize the lace closure system. Ensure the laces are pulled snugly to activate the Compression Fit Tunnel Tongue and achieve optimal foot lockdown. This maximizes the supportive benefits of the tongue and prevents excessive foot movement inside the boot.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are designed specifically for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are relatively dry and firm. Using them on artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces may compromise performance and durability.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, wipe down the entire boot with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For tougher stains, a soft brush can be used gently. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources (like radiators or hair dryers) as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
- Soleplate Wear: Please note that the lacquer finish on the bottom of the Sprintframe 360 soleplate may wear off during play. This is a normal cosmetic occurrence and will not affect the performance or durability of the product.
