FAQs

Are these sandals suitable for wide feet?

The Birkenstock Arizona Rivets feature a narrow fit, which is designed for slimmer feet. They may not be the best option for children with wide feet.

How do I know the correct size?

Birkenstock sandals often run a little larger than standard shoe sizes. It is recommended to measure your child's foot and consult the Birkenstock sizing chart, paying attention to the UK size provided.

Can these sandals be worn in water?

While the EVA sole is water-resistant, the suede footbed lining is not. It is best to avoid prolonged exposure to water to protect the footbed material.

What is the advantage of the cork-latex footbed?

The cork-latex footbed is anatomically shaped to provide natural support for the arches of the foot, promoting good posture and comfort during prolonged wear.

How do I break in the sandals?

Birkenstock footbeds are designed to mold to the shape of the foot over time with wear. Initially, wear them for short periods and gradually increase the duration as they become more comfortable.

Are the rivets purely decorative?

The rivets are part of the decorative detailing around the straps, enhancing the style. The primary adjustment and security come from the metal pin buckles on the straps themselves.

Troubleshooting

Sandals feel too tight/loose

Adjust the metal pin buckles on both straps to find a secure and comfortable fit. Ensure the straps are evenly adjusted.

Suede footbed looks dirty

Use a dedicated suede brush to gently lift the nap and remove surface dirt. For tougher stains, use a slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry.

Sandal making squeaking noises

This can sometimes occur due to friction between the footbed and the sole, or with moisture. Ensure the footbed is completely dry. A light dusting of talcum powder under the insole (if removable) or on the foot may help.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: These sandals require no assembly. Simply adjust the buckles on the two straps to achieve the desired fit for your child's foot.

Compatibility: The Arizona Rivets are designed as versatile casual footwear suitable for warm weather. They pair well with shorts, dresses, and casual trousers.

Care:

Upper: Wipe the synthetic upper with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
Footbed: Clean the suede footbed lining with a suede brush or a slightly damp cloth. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat.
Sole: Clean the EVA outsole with mild soap and water.
