FAQs

What are the dimensions of the stove shield?

The shield measures 30cm in width and 22cm in height.

Is a carry case included?

Yes, it comes with a dedicated 420D fabric protective bag for storage.

Can I use this with any camping stove?

It is compatible with most compact camping stoves, though you should verify your stove size fits within the 30cm width.

How do I clean the shield?

Use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the black finish.

Does it have openings for fuel lines?

Yes, there are stove pipe openings located on both side panels.

Troubleshooting

Shield blows over in strong wind

Ensure the panels are bent slightly to create a stable base or place small stones at the bottom edge of the panels to anchor them.

Panels feel excessively hot

Increase the distance between the burner and the shield; if the shield is too close, it will reflect heat back toward the stove and cause overheating.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly reduces fuel consumption by improving heating efficiency
Lightweight construction makes it easy to carry in a rucksack
Sturdy aluminium build with a weather-resistant black finish
Integrated cut-outs accommodate various stove configurations
Includes a durable carry bag for protection during transit

Cons

Fixed dimensions may be too small for very large multi-burner stoves
Aluminium can retain heat, requiring caution during disassembly
Limited to a 3-panel configuration which may not wrap around circular burners completely

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the Night Forge Stove Shield is straightforward: simply unfold the panels and stand them in a 'U' or semi-circle formation around your stove. Ensure the shield is on the windward side of your cooking area to achieve maximum coverage.

Compatibility: This shield is designed to work with most compact camping stoves. Check your stove dimensions before use to ensure the 30cm width is sufficient to block wind from your specific burner head.

Care: To maintain the finish, wipe down the panels with a damp cloth after each use to remove grease or debris. Allow the unit to cool completely before folding it away into the included 420D fabric bag. Do not use abrasive scouring pads as these may scratch the black protective coating.
