Full details

Designed for adult runners, these adidas Own The Run running shorts are engineered to provide reliable comfort during interval training, tempo runs, and long-distance sessions. The core benefit is the integrated AEROREADY moisture-wicking technology that keeps you dry and focused, though users should note these are a regular fit, which may feel slightly looser than dedicated compression gear.

FAQs

Are these shorts suitable for the gym?

Yes, their breathable design and regular fit make them excellent for cross-training, lifting, and cardio work in the gym.

Can I put these in the dryer?

While air drying is recommended to extend the life of the fabric, you can tumble dry on low heat, though high heat should be avoided to prevent damage to the elastic components.

Is the zip pocket large enough for a smartphone?

The rear zip pocket is primarily designed for small essentials like keys or gels; most modern large smartphones will not fit comfortably.

What does 'Regular fit' mean?

Regular fit provides a standard cut that is neither too tight nor too baggy, offering a balance of comfort and mobility.

How do I choose the right size?

Refer to the adidas size guide using your waist measurement; these shorts feature an elastic waist which provides some flexibility within the size range.

Troubleshooting

Drawcord has slipped inside the waistband

Use a small safety pin to guide the drawstring end back through the fabric channel.

Fabric feels saturated after long runs

Ensure you are not using fabric softener during the wash cycle, as it blocks the pores of the moisture-wicking material.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent moisture management via AEROREADY tech
Convenient storage options including a secure zip pocket
Environmentally conscious design using recycled polyester
Drawcord waist allows for a precise fit
Reflective detailing adds safety for outdoor runs

Cons

Regular fit may not suit those who prefer tight compression shorts
Limited to specific colour and sizing options
Requires machine care to maintain reflective properties

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your shorts, use the internal drawcord to lock the waistband before your workout begins. For cleaning, machine wash the shorts in cold water with similar colors. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can interfere with the moisture-wicking performance of the AEROREADY fabric. Hang to dry when possible to protect the integrity of the synthetic fibers and reflective detailing. If ironing is necessary, use a cool setting and avoid direct contact with any reflective logos or strips.
