Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your HOKA Elevon X trainers is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure your shoes are laced securely but not overly tight. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points.
- Initial Wear: We recommend wearing your new trainers for shorter periods initially, especially if you're new to HOKA or leather footwear, to allow the materials to adapt to your foot's unique shape. This is particularly relevant for the Nubuck leather components.
Compatibility
- Gender: This is a Unisex design, suitable for both men and women.
- Terrain: Best suited for road surfaces, paved paths, and light, non-technical trails.
- Foot Type: HOKA shoes generally cater to a wide range of foot types; the Elevon X is designed to offer balanced support and cushioning.
- Size: This specific variant is a UK size 10.5.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the aesthetic of your Elevon X trainers, especially given the premium materials:
- Nubuck Leather Upper: Regularly use a soft-bristled brush (like a dedicated Nubuck brush) to remove dirt and restore the nap. For stains, a specialized Nubuck cleaner and protector are highly recommended. Always test any cleaning product on an inconspicuous area first. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water.
- Full-Grain Leather Mudguard: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, a mild leather cleaner can be used sparingly.
- Outsole/Midsole: Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and water to clean the rubber outsole and foam midsole. Rinse gently and avoid submerging the entire shoe.
- Drying: Always allow your trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as these can damage the leather and adhesives. Stuffing with paper towels can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape when not in use.
