Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Prepare Your Walls: Ensure walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from any loose paint or debris. Fill any holes or cracks and sand smooth. For best results, prime porous walls or those with strong colour variations.
- Gather Tools: You will need wallpaper paste (suitable for 'paste the wall' wallpaper), a paste brush or roller, a plumb line or spirit level, a smoothing brush or plastic smoother, a craft knife with spare blades, a tape measure, and a clean sponge/cloth.
- Measure and Cut: Measure your wall height and add approximately 10cm (4 inches) for trimming. Cut the first strip, then lay it flat to match the pattern for subsequent strips, ensuring the pattern aligns before cutting.
- Paste the Wall: Apply a generous, even layer of wallpaper paste directly to the wall for the width of one strip, extending slightly beyond where the strip will hang. Do not paste the wallpaper itself.
- Hang the First Strip: Use your plumb line to ensure your first strip is perfectly vertical. Carefully position the wallpaper strip onto the pasted wall, leaving a small overlap at the top and bottom for trimming. Smooth down with a wallpaper brush from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Match and Continue: Apply the next strip, carefully aligning the pattern repeat with the previous strip. Continue this process around the room.
- Trim and Finish: Once all strips are hung, use a craft knife and a straight edge to carefully trim excess paper at the ceiling, skirting boards, and around windows/doors. Wipe off any excess paste immediately with a clean, damp sponge.
Compatibility
This wallpaper is suitable for most interior walls in dry areas of your home, including living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and bedrooms. Ensure the walls are structurally sound and appropriately prepared.
Care & Maintenance
To maintain the beauty of your Superfresco Easy Metallic Floral Wallpaper:
- Cleaning: Wipe gently with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust or light marks. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing, as this may damage the metallic finish or pattern.
- Avoid Excessive Moisture: While durable, excessive moisture can damage wallpaper. Address any leaks or high humidity quickly.
- Sunlight: Prolonged direct sunlight might cause slight fading over many years. Consider window coverings for rooms exposed to intense, direct sun.
