Full details
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is designed for adults seeking a perfect marriage of early-2000s vintage aesthetics and modern athletic performance. Ideal for both daily lifestyle wear and running, these trainers offer exceptional comfort through responsive Zoom Air cushioning and a breathable, durable mesh-and-leather upper. While it provides excellent support and a lightweight feel, users should note that the technical, layered design of the upper requires a break-in period to achieve optimal comfort.

FAQs
Is the Zoom Vomero 5 good for long-distance running?
It is designed as a responsive, comfortable trainer suitable for general running, though mileage capacity varies based on individual foot type and preference.
Does the shoe fit true to size?
Most users find the Zoom Vomero 5 fits true to size, though the structured caging may make it feel slightly snug if you prefer a wider fit.
Can I put these shoes in the washing machine?
It is strongly recommended to avoid the washing machine, as the heat and agitation can damage the Zoom Air unit and the adhesives holding the leather and mesh together.
What material is the upper made of?
The upper consists of a mix of breathable mesh for ventilation and synthetic leather overlays for added durability and structure.
Are these shoes suitable for wet weather?
While the rubber outsole provides good traction, the mesh portions are breathable and may allow water to penetrate in heavy rain.
How do the reflective details work?
The reflective accents are embedded into the design and will light up when hit directly by a light source, such as car headlights, in dark conditions.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel tight across the midfoot
Loosen the laces starting from the bottom eyelets and adjust the tongue to allow for more volume around the plastic cage.
Heel slippage during running
Use the extra eyelet at the top of the ankle collar to perform a 'runner's loop' or 'heel lock' lacing technique.
Mesh becoming dirty
Use a soft-bristled brush with a gentle detergent solution to lightly scrub the mesh areas without saturating the inner foam.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Zoom Vomero 5, keep them away from harsh cleaning chemicals. Clean the mesh and synthetic leather upper by gently wiping with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid submerging them fully in water, which can degrade the cushioning materials. Since these are performance-derived, they pair well with both athletic socks for exercise and thinner cotton socks for casual outings. Ensure you lace the shoes through the integrated caging to maximize the supportive benefits of the design. When not in use, store them in a cool, dry place to prevent yellowing of the mesh and degradation of the adhesives.
