Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting Location: Select a site with full sun for optimal flowering and autumn color. The Viburnum Opulus 'roseum' prefers moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged conditions.
Watering: Keep the plant well-watered, especially during its first growing season, to help it establish a strong root system. Once established, it is more drought-tolerant but benefits from watering during dry periods.
Pruning: Pruning is generally only needed to maintain shape or to remove any dead or damaged wood. If desired, trim the shrub in the summer after flowering has finished. Avoid heavy pruning in late winter or spring, as this can remove the current year's flower buds.
Soil: While adaptable, it performs best in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Amending the soil with compost at planting time is beneficial.
Pest & Disease: This variety is generally hardy and resistant to common pests and diseases.
