Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting:
Choose a location in full sun. Prepare the soil to be moderately fertile, moist, but well-drained. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and plant the shrub so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Water thoroughly after planting.
Watering & Feeding:
Water regularly until the plant is established. During dry periods, ensure consistent moisture. Feed annually in spring with a balanced fertilizer.
Pruning:
Trim in summer if necessary to manage size and shape. Remove any dead or crossing branches during the dormant season (late winter).
Compatibility:
Suitable for most garden settings, including mixed borders and as a specimen. It is hardy (H4) and generally robust.
