Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove the wooden bat, stumps, bail, and soft balls from their packaging.
- Set Up Wickets: Identify a flat, open outdoor area. Push the four wooden stumps firmly into the ground to create the wicket. Ensure they are spaced appropriately to allow the bail to rest securely across the top two stumps.
- Place Bail: Gently rest the wooden bail on top of the two central stumps.
- Prepare for Play: With the bat and balls ready, you can now begin your cricket match.
Compatibility
This cricket set is designed for outdoor use only. It is compatible with open, grassy areas, sand (like a beach), or any flat outdoor surface free from obstructions. The soft balls make it suitable for use in environments where a hard cricket ball might pose a risk.
Care
- Storage: Store all wooden components in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent warping or damage. A shed or garage is ideal.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the wooden bat and stumps with a damp cloth after use to remove dirt or debris. Ensure they are thoroughly dry before storage. The felt balls can be brushed clean or wiped with a slightly damp cloth, then air-dried.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the bat handle's grip for looseness or wear. Check wooden components for splinters or cracks. Light sanding can address minor splinters.
- Longevity: To maximize the lifespan of your set, avoid leaving it exposed to harsh weather conditions (rain, extreme heat, or cold) for extended periods.
