FAQs
Are these reins suitable for competition?
Yes, the classic leather design is suitable for most schooling and competitive environments where leather equipment is preferred.
Do I need to wear gloves with these reins?
While not strictly required, wearing riding gloves can enhance the grip and protect your hands, especially when the leather is new or during high-intensity training.
How do I break in the leather?
Regular use and consistent application of leather conditioner will soften the material over time, making it more pliable.
Can these be used on any bridle?
Yes, they are designed with standard attachments compatible with most English-style bits and bridles.
How often should I condition the leather?
It is recommended to condition the reins every few weeks, or more frequently if used in dry or dusty conditions, to maintain their longevity.
Troubleshooting
Leather feels stiff or dry
Thoroughly clean the reins with a leather soap and apply a quality leather conditioner to restore suppleness.
Grips feel slippery
