Product Information

Full details

The HOKA Clifton 11 is designed for road runners and walkers who prioritize consistent comfort and reliable performance for daily mileage. By combining a plush compression-moulded EVA foam midsole with signature MetaRocker geometry, this trainer delivers a smooth, effortless ride that supports a natural gait cycle. While the Clifton 11 excels in cushioning and long-distance support, it is best suited for paved surfaces rather than technical trails or speed-focused track work.

Extended Product Information

FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for wide feet?

The Clifton 11 is available in various widths. Check the product specifications for 'EE' or 'EEEE' designations if you require extra volume.

Can I use these for trail running?

The Clifton 11 is designed for road use. The outsole does not feature the deep lugs required for loose dirt, mud, or technical trail surfaces.

How often should I replace my Clifton 11s?

Generally, running shoes should be replaced every 400 to 500 miles, or sooner if you notice the midsole foam no longer provides its original level of bounce.

Are the insoles removable?

Yes, the stock insoles are removable, allowing you to insert custom orthotics if required for your specific arch support needs.

Do these provide stability for overpronation?

The Clifton 11 provides neutral stability. If you require severe correction for overpronation, consult a specialist to see if these meet your specific biomechanical needs.

Troubleshooting

Feeling pressure or rubbing on the top of the foot

Try adjusting the lacing pattern to a 'window lacing' or 'gap lacing' technique to reduce tension on the specific pressure point.

Outsole debris collection

If small stones get lodged in the tread, use a blunt object or a specialized brush to dislodge them carefully to avoid damage to the rubber.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight yet highly cushioned for extended comfort
Smooth transition geometry benefits both runners and walkers
Breathable upper keeps feet cool during long sessions
Durable outsole rubber stands up to high daily mileage

Cons

Not intended for off-road or technical terrain use
Cushioned profile may feel too soft for those preferring high ground-feel
Reflective elements are helpful but not a substitute for active lighting

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Clifton 11 trainers, follow these guidelines:

Break-in Period: While these shoes offer immediate comfort, wearing them for shorter walks before a long-distance run can help the upper material better conform to your foot shape.
Fit: Ensure you have a thumb's width of space at the front of the toe box to allow for natural foot swelling during exercise.
Cleaning: Clean the trainers using a soft brush to remove loose dirt. Use a damp cloth with mild soap for surface stains. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or using a washing machine, as high heat and heavy agitation can compromise the foam and adhesive integrity.
Drying: Always air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause the materials to warp.
