ASICS GEL technology is a cushioning system that uses silicone-based gel placed in high-impact areas of the midsole (forefoot and rearfoot) to absorb shock, reduce impact on joints, and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride.

While the ASICS Gel-NYC offers excellent cushioning for everyday comfort, they are designed as lifestyle shoes with a retro-modern aesthetic, not specialized running shoes. For dedicated running, ASICS offers specific performance running models.

For suede areas, use a soft-bristled suede brush to gently remove dirt. For stains, a suede eraser can be effective. Avoid using water or harsh liquid cleaners directly on suede as it can stain or damage the material. For tough spots, specialized suede cleaning kits are available.

The upper features a combination of airy mesh, soft suede, and synthetic detailing. The sole consists of a lightweight foam midsole with GEL technology and a tough rubber outsole.

ASICS generally recommends purchasing your usual shoe size. However, fit can vary slightly by individual foot shape. If you are unsure, referring to ASICS' size chart or trying them on if possible is recommended.

The airy mesh upper provides breathability, which is great for warmer weather. However, they are not waterproof. For wet or cold conditions, consider footwear with water-resistant or insulated properties.

Ensure you have the correct size. Adjust the laces to customize the fit. Wear appropriate socks. Shoes may need a short break-in period to conform to your foot.

This can sometimes happen with new rubber soles on smooth surfaces. It usually subsides with wear. Ensure the inner sole is properly seated without wrinkles.

Regularly brush off loose dirt. Use a gentle spot cleaner for immediate stains. Consider using a shoe protector spray designed for mixed materials to repel water and dirt, though test on an inconspicuous area first.
