Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Break-in
To ensure the best fit and performance, a short break-in period is recommended.
- Wear indoors: Start by wearing the boots indoors for a few hours to allow the leather to begin molding to your foot shape.
- Light training: Use them during light training sessions or warm-ups before full-intensity play.
- Moisturize (optional): Some players lightly moisturize the leather with a suitable leather conditioner to aid the softening process, though this is not always necessary with quality cow leather.
Compatibility
- Pitch Type: These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches, which are typically natural grass fields that are dry and well-maintained.
- Avoid: Not recommended for Artificial Grass (AG), Soft Ground (SG), or Indoor (IC) surfaces, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise grip.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your leather boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Remove loose dirt and grass immediately after playing using a soft brush or damp cloth.
- Wipe Down: Use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap to gently clean the leather upper. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Dry Naturally: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help retain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Condition Leather: Every few weeks, apply a small amount of leather conditioner to keep the leather soft, supple, and prevent cracking.
- Store Properly: Keep boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and damage.
