Unwins Flower Seeds - Petunia Celebrity Mix F1

You can sow indoors from late winter to early spring (February-April) or directly outdoors after the last frost has passed in late spring.

Petunia seeds are very fine and should be sown on the surface of the compost and covered only lightly. They need light to germinate.

Petunias prefer well-draining, fertile soil. For containers, use a good quality potting mix.

Germination typically takes 10-21 days, depending on temperature and moisture levels.

While they may grow in partial shade, Petunias perform best and produce the most flowers in full sun.

F1 Hybrid seeds are produced by crossing two specific parent varieties. They often exhibit superior uniformity, vigor, and disease resistance compared to open-pollinated varieties.

For container-grown plants, fertilize with a balanced liquid feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. Indoor-grown plants can be fed after they are established and showing good leaf growth.

Ensure seeds are sown at the correct depth, kept consistently moist, and are within their viable temperature range. Check the expiry date on the seed packet.

Provide adequate light levels (e.g., move to a brighter windowsill or use grow lights). Ensure appropriate temperature control and avoid overwatering.

Confirm plants are receiving sufficient sunlight (at least 6 hours daily). Ensure adequate feeding and watering. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage new blooms.

Inspect plants regularly. Treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Encourage beneficial insects in the garden.
