Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Handball Spezial trainers is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are threaded evenly through all eyelets. Adjust the tension for a customized fit.
- Fit: Slip your foot into the shoe and adjust the laces for a snug, comfortable fit. The padded cuff will hug your ankle and provide support.
- Break-in: While generally comfortable from the start, a short break-in period might allow the suede to conform perfectly to your foot shape for optimal comfort.
Compatibility
These trainers are highly versatile:
- Style: They pair well with a wide range of casual attire, including denim, chinos, shorts, and tracksuits. Their retro aesthetic makes them a stylish complement to both modern and vintage-inspired looks.
- Activities: Ideal for everyday casual wear, urban exploration, light indoor activities, and social events. Not recommended for heavy-duty sports like running marathons or playing competitive outdoor sports in harsh conditions due to the suede material.
Care
Given the premium suede material, proper care is essential to maintain the trainers' appearance and longevity.
- Regular Cleaning: Use a soft brush specifically designed for suede to gently remove dirt and dust. Brush in one direction to maintain the nap of the suede.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, use a suede cleaner or a slightly damp cloth (not wet) with a small amount of mild soap. Dab the stain gently; do not rub aggressively. Allow to air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Protection: Consider applying a high-quality suede protector spray before first use and periodically thereafter to guard against water and stains.
- Drying: If trainers get wet, stuff them loosely with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Let them air dry completely at room temperature.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Avoid exposing them to excessive moisture, mud, or harsh chemicals that can damage suede.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and material degradation.
