FAQs

What type of windows is this handle compatible with?

This handle is designed for PVC-u, timber, and aluminium tilt & turn casement windows. It is compatible with AGB, Roto, Siegenia, and MACO T&T systems.

How does the tilt-safe function work?

The tilt-safe function allows the window to be opened in a tilted position for ventilation but prevents it from opening fully, enhancing child safety.

Can I use this handle on any window, regardless of opening direction?

Yes, the non-handed design means it can be fitted on both left- and right-opening windows.

What is the 'turn-first' compatibility?

Turn-first compatibility means the handle can be used with older window systems that have a specific locking sequence. It features an invertible backplate for this purpose.

What is included with the handle?

The handle typically includes the handle itself, a key, screws for installation, and snap-fit cover caps.

What is the warranty on this product?

The product comes with a 20-year surface guarantee.

Is this handle suitable for external doors?

No, this handle is specifically designed for tilt and turn casement windows and is not intended for use on doors.

Troubleshooting

Handle is stiff or difficult to turn

Check for any obstructions in the window mechanism. Ensure the spindle is correctly aligned and screws are not overtightened. Lubricate the mechanism if necessary.

Window does not tilt or turn properly

Verify that the handle is compatible with your specific window system. Ensure the correct spindle length is used and the gearbox is functioning. Check for any damage to the gearbox or locking points.

Key does not lock or unlock the handle

Ensure the correct key is being used and is fully inserted. The window mechanism might be misaligned, preventing the lock from engaging. Try to slightly move the window sash while turning the key.

Tilt-safe function is not engaging

Confirm that the handle is set to the 'tilt-safe' position. There may be an issue with the internal mechanism that controls this function; consult a window specialist if problems persist.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Installation: The Greenteq Alpha handle is designed for quick and easy installation. It typically replaces existing tilt and turn window handles. Ensure the window mechanism is suitable for a 43mm spindle (standard for most T&T systems). The handle comes with necessary screws and snap-fit cover caps for a neat finish. Align the handle spindle with the gearbox on the window mechanism and secure it with the provided screws. Insert the cover caps to conceal the screw heads.

Compatibility: This handle is widely compatible with AGB, Roto, Siegenia, and MACO tilt & turn systems. The invertible backplate feature also makes it suitable for older windows where the spindle direction might differ. Always verify your existing window mechanism and spindle size before purchasing to ensure a perfect fit.

Care: To maintain the smooth operation and appearance of the white finish, clean the handle regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can damage the surface. For internal mechanisms, occasional lubrication with a silicone-based spray may help ensure continued smooth operation, but refer to your window manufacturer's guidelines.
