FAQs

Are these sandals suitable for wide feet?

The ergonomic design accommodates most foot shapes, but the anatomical footbed is standard; consider sizing up if your child has an especially high instep.

Can these be worn in water?

Yes, they are water-resistant and suitable for shallow water play, though they should be rinsed and dried after contact with salt or chlorinated water.

How do I know if they are too small?

If your child's toes are touching or hanging over the front edge, it is time for the next size up.

Are the materials toxic-free?

Havaianas uses high-quality synthetic rubber materials that are designed to be safe for children's sensitive skin.

How often should I clean the sandals?

A quick wipe-down after outdoor play is recommended to remove dirt and sand, which can be abrasive over time.

Troubleshooting

Sandals are difficult to put on a squirmy child.

Ensure the heel strap is fully stretched and pulled back before sliding the foot in; applying a small amount of baby powder can help reduce friction.

Footbed feels slippery when wet.

Rinse the sandal thoroughly to remove any surface debris or oils, then towel dry the footbed before the next use.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent stability for early walkers
Easy to clean materials
Secure heel support prevents accidental slips
Highly durable construction for daily wear

Cons

Open-toe design leaves toes exposed in rough terrain
Limited to warm-weather usage
May require consistent cleaning if used in sandy environments

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These sandals require no assembly and are ready to wear immediately. To ensure proper fit, measure your child's foot length against the manufacturer's size chart to accommodate for room to grow. For care, simply rinse the sandals with lukewarm water and a mild, neutral soap. Allow them to air dry in the shade to prevent material degradation from prolonged direct sun exposure. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive brushes, as these can damage the flexible synthetic material.
