Product Information
Full details
The adidas Glider Football in Purple (Size 5) is designed for consistent performance in everyday play, offering durability and a reliable feel for casual games and skill practice. Its key benefit lies in its hard-wearing construction and butyl bladder, ensuring it maintains its shape and air pressure over time. A potential caveat for serious athletes is that its construction is optimized for general use rather than professional match standards.

FAQs
What size is this football?
This is a Size 5 football, which is the standard size for adult and youth (12 years and older) competitive play.
What is the butyl bladder for?
The butyl bladder is designed to retain air longer than standard bladders, ensuring the ball stays properly inflated for extended periods of play and reducing the need for frequent re-inflation.
Can I use this ball for professional matches?
The adidas Glider is built for everyday play and practice. While it offers reliable performance, it is not designed to meet the strict specifications required for professional match play.
How should I clean the football?
Clean the ball with a damp cloth after use. For tougher dirt, a mild soap and water solution can be used, followed by a thorough rinse and air drying away from direct heat.
What surfaces can this ball be used on?
The adidas Glider is an all-surface ball, suitable for grass, artificial turf, and most hard outdoor surfaces.
Does the ball come inflated?
No, the football typically ships deflated to save space and protect it during transit. You will need to inflate it before use.
What does 'machine-stitched panels' mean for performance?
Machine-stitched panels are bonded together by machine stitching, which contributes to a rounder shape, consistent ball flight, and a predictable bounce compared to hand-stitched or molded balls.
Troubleshooting
Ball won't inflate
Ensure the inflation needle is inserted correctly and fully into the valve. Check that the needle is not blocked and that the pump is functioning. If the valve appears damaged, contact customer support.
Ball loses air quickly
Check the valve for any visible damage or debris. Ensure the inflation needle was removed carefully after inflation. If the issue persists, the bladder may have a small leak, and the ball may need to be replaced.
Ball feels too hard or too soft
Inflate or deflate the ball to the recommended pressure. The ideal pressure provides a firm but slightly yielding feel.
Ball is scuffed or marked easily
Clean the ball with a damp cloth. For persistent marks, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by rinsing and drying. Note that some wear is normal for an all-surface ball.
Pros and Cons

- Outer material can be susceptible to wear on very abrasive surfaces over long periods
Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup: The adidas Glider Football arrives deflated. To prepare it for use, inflate it to the recommended pressure (typically indicated on the ball or via a valve marker). Use a standard football needle and pump, ensuring the needle is lightly lubricated to prevent damage to the valve.
Compatibility: This ball is designed as an all-surface football, making it compatible with grass, artificial turf, and most hard surfaces. It is suitable for players of all ages for recreational play and practice.
Care: To maintain the ball's condition:
- Wipe the ball clean with a damp cloth after use, especially if it has been played on a dirty surface.
- Avoid leaving the ball in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures for extended periods, as this can degrade the material.
- Store the ball in a cool, dry place, ideally slightly deflated if storing for a long time.
- Periodically check the inflation level and re-inflate as needed to maintain optimal performance.
