FAQs
What type of workouts are the adidas Dropset 3 Training Shoes best for?
These shoes are specifically designed for strength training, including weightlifting, powerlifting, and general gym workouts where stability, grip, and support are paramount for exercises like squats, deadlifts, presses, and pulls.
Can I use these shoes for running or cardio?
While you can use them for light cardio, their specialized design focuses on stability for strength training. They are not optimized for running, agility drills, or other high-impact, multi-directional cardio activities.
What does 'HEAT.RDY' mean?
HEAT.RDY is an adidas technology designed to keep your feet cool and comfortable during intense workouts by allowing air to circulate and wicking away sweat, helping to prevent overheating and foot swell.
What is the 6 mm heel drop for?
A 6 mm heel drop means the heel is 6 millimeters higher than the forefoot. This moderate drop is commonly favored in training shoes to provide a stable platform for heavy lifting, particularly squats, by promoting a more upright torso and better ankle mobility.
How should I clean my Dropset 3 shoes?
To clean the textile upper, gently wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry them completely at room temperature. Avoid machine washing or using harsh chemicals to prevent damage.
Do these shoes run true to size, especially with the 'wider fit'?
The adidas Dropset 3 features a 'wider than standard fit' to comfortably accommodate foot swell during exertion. If you typically find standard shoes too narrow, these might fit true to your usual size. If you have particularly narrow feet, you might find them roomier than usual.
Are these shoes environmentally friendly?
Yes, these shoes contain at least 20% recycled content in their construction, contributing to adidas' efforts towards sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
Troubleshooting
Feet feel hot or sweaty during workouts.
The HEAT.RDY technology is designed to help, but ensure you are wearing appropriate moisture-wicking socks. You can also loosen the laces slightly for more airflow if not compromising stability.
Feeling unstable during heavy lifts.
Ensure the adjustable lacing system is pulled tight and securely tied. Verify your foot placement within the shoe and on the ground. The firmer heel and TPU sidewall are designed for stability, so proper lacing is key to engaging these features.
Foot slipping inside the shoe.
Tighten the laces, paying attention to the midfoot area to engage the TPU sidewall and Geofit Sensepods for better heel lockdown. Ensure your socks are not overly slippery or worn out.
Grip feels insufficient on gym floor.
Check the Traxion outsole for any embedded dust, dirt, or debris that might be reducing traction. Wipe the sole clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the floor itself is clean and dry.
