Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
These boots require no special setup. Upon receiving them, try them on to ensure a proper fit. Lace them up snugly, but not too tight, ensuring your heel is secure and there is room for your toes to wiggle slightly.
Compatibility:
- Metal Detectors: The non-metallic shank and composite safety toes are designed to pass through metal detectors without triggering alarms, making them suitable for security-sensitive work environments.
- Footbeds: The boots come with Ventilated Anti-Fatigue Technology PU footbeds. If you prefer custom orthotics or different insoles, ensure they are similarly structured to provide adequate support and cushioning without compromising the boot's safety features or fit.
Care:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the leather exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap and water solution, then wipe clean.
- Conditioning: To maintain the leather's suppleness and waterproof capabilities, apply a quality leather conditioner specifically designed for full-grain leather every few months, or as needed based on usage and environmental exposure.
- Drying: If the boots become wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, which can damage the leather and adhesives. Remove the insoles to aid in drying the interior.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use, preferably with boot trees to help maintain their shape.
