Setup
Getting your Sonos Beam (Gen 2) ready is straightforward:
- Unpack: Carefully remove the Beam (Gen 2) from its packaging.
- Connect to Power: Plug the power cable into the soundbar and then into a power outlet.
- Connect to TV: Use the included HDMI cable to connect the soundbar's HDMI port to your TV's HDMI ARC or eARC port. Consult your TV's manual if you're unsure which port to use.
- Download Sonos App: Install the Sonos app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Follow App Instructions: The Sonos app will guide you through connecting the Beam (Gen 2) to your home Wi-Fi network and configuring initial settings. This includes connecting to voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
- TruePlay Tuning (Optional): If you have an iOS device, use the TruePlay feature within the Sonos app to acoustically optimize the soundbar for your specific room environment.
Compatibility
- TVs: Compatible with TVs featuring an HDMI ARC or eARC port.
- Streaming: Works with major music, podcast, and audio streaming services via Wi-Fi.
- Voice Assistants: Supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control.
- Apple Devices: Compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 for direct streaming from iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
- Sonos Ecosystem: Fully integrates with other Sonos speakers for multi-room audio and can be expanded with Sonos Sub and Sonos rear speakers for a more complete surround sound setup.
Care
- Cleaning: To clean the Sonos Beam (Gen 2), gently wipe the perforated grill and surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. For minor smudges, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals as these can damage the finish.
- Placement: Ensure the soundbar is placed on a stable, flat surface or securely mounted. Avoid blocking the front or sides, as this can affect sound projection. Keep ventilation clear.
