Full details

The Under Armour UA Woven Wordmark Shorts are designed for adult men who prioritize performance-grade warm-up gear that balances durability with a lightweight feel. These shorts offer excellent sweat-wicking properties and a relaxed, oversized fit that maximizes range of motion during intense training sessions, though potential buyers should note that the loose cut may feel too baggy for those who prefer a more streamlined, compressive athletic silhouette.

FAQs

Are these shorts suitable for swimming?

While made of polyester, these are designed as athletic training shorts. They may be worn near water, but they are not specialized swimwear.

Do these shorts have a liner?

No, these shorts do not feature an internal compression liner.

How long is the inseam?

These shorts feature an 8.25-inch inseam.

Is the fabric stretchy?

The material is woven for durability and a lightweight feel. While it does not have the stretch of spandex, the loose, oversized fit compensates for mobility.

Are the pockets deep enough for a smartphone?

The hand pockets are open-style. While they can hold a smartphone while walking, they are not recommended for securing devices during running or jumping.

Troubleshooting

Drawcord gets lost inside the waistband

Use a safety pin attached to the end of the cord to guide it back through the casing if it retreats during a wash.

Fabric holds onto body odor

Ensure the shorts are removed from your gym bag immediately after use and wash them with a specialized athletic-wear detergent to strip deep-seated sweat buildup.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Quick-drying fabric ideal for high-intensity sweat sessions
Lightweight and breathable material construction
Side-vent hem improves range of motion during dynamic movements
Loose fit ensures total comfort without skin irritation
Adjustable waistband keeps the shorts firmly in place

Cons

Oversized fit may be too baggy for users preferring a slim cut
Lack of zippered pockets may cause items to fall out during vigorous activity
Polyester fabric is strictly performance-oriented and lacks the texture of natural fibers

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Under Armour shorts maintain their performance integrity, follow these care instructions:

Washing: Machine wash cold with like colors to prevent color bleeding.
Detergent: Use mild detergents; avoid using bleach or heavy fabric softeners as they can break down the sweat-wicking synthetic fibers.
Drying: Tumble dry on a low setting or hang-dry to preserve the elastic integrity of the waistband and the shape of the polyester weave.
Ironing: Avoid ironing the garment, as high heat can damage the synthetic material.
Fit: The shorts feature an oversized fit; if you are between sizes and prefer a tighter feel, you may consider sizing down.
