While it provides good ambient light, the smoked glass reduces brightness, so it may not be sufficient for focused task work like reading.

Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn spots, use a tiny amount of glass cleaner on the cloth rather than spraying the fixture directly.
