No, they are made from canvas and suede, which are porous materials. It is recommended to use a protective water-repellent spray to provide light resistance against moisture.
Yes, they generally follow standard UK sizing. If you have particularly wide feet, you may find them slightly snug initially.
It is not recommended to machine wash Vans, as the heat and agitation can damage the adhesive and the suede components. Spot cleaning is the best practice.
The Old Skool 36 is designed to reflect the original aesthetic of early Vans models with a focus on a streamlined, classic low-top look.
Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for extended periods, as UV rays can cause the black dye to fade over time.
Wear them for short periods around the house to allow the canvas and suede to break in and conform to your foot shape.
Use a lint roller or a soft garment brush to lift surface particles without damaging the material.
Double-knot the laces or consider replacing them with higher-friction cotton laces if the factory laces feel too slippery.
These trainers require no special setup; simply lace them to your preferred tension upon first wear. To ensure longevity, keep the shoes away from heavy mud and moisture. To clean, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the suede and canvas. For deeper stains, use a mild fabric cleaner specifically safe for suede, and always allow the shoes to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources to prevent material warping.
