Full details

The Korda Compac Bivvy Wrap is designed for mobile and overnight anglers who need to streamline their gear and expedite their setup process. By replacing traditional, bulky carry bags with a compression-based wrap, it allows you to secure your bivvy and essential accessories into a tight, low-profile package for easier transport. While it offers superior organization and rapid deployment, it requires a disciplined packing technique to ensure the elasticated fabric remains effective and the load is balanced.

FAQs

Can this be used for all types of bivvies?

It is designed for standard mobile bivvies and brolly systems. Very large or bulky shelters may not fit within the 83cm x 66cm dimensions.

Does it include a shoulder strap?

No, the wrap is designed as a standalone compression system for stowing your bivvy inside a barrow bag or for carrying by hand.

How do I clean the wrap?

The interior features a wipe-clean water-resistant lining. Simply use a damp cloth to remove mud or debris.

Are the storm pole sleeves universal?

The 4 reinforced sleeves are designed to fit most standard-diameter bank sticks and storm poles used in modern bivvy systems.

Will the wrap keep my bivvy dry in heavy rain?

The material is water-resistant, which protects against light rain and damp, but it is not intended to be a fully waterproof bag for long-term outdoor storage.

Troubleshooting

Wrap keeps coming loose during transport

Ensure the bivvy is folded as flat as possible before wrapping and tighten the Velcro straps to their maximum tension point.

Velcro is losing its grip

Check the hooks and loops for debris or grass. Use a stiff brush or a pair of tweezers to remove trapped material to restore the connection strength.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly reduces bulk compared to standard carry bags
Allows for extremely rapid deployment and pack-down
Military-grade construction ensures long-term durability
Dedicated storage keeps poles and pegs from getting lost
Water-resistant lining is easy to clean after wet sessions

Cons

Requires manual effort to achieve consistent compression
Not suitable for extremely large, multi-skin shelter systems
Exposure of the outer surface to the elements requires regular wiping down

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the wrap, lay the mat flat on the ground and place your bivvy in the center. Insert your storm poles into the designated reinforced sleeves. Use the Velcro fasteners to tension the wrap until you reach a compact diameter between 65cm and 75cm.

Compatibility: This wrap is designed for standard bivvy configurations. It may be incompatible with heavy-duty, oversized pram-hood systems that exceed its physical dimensions.

Care: To maintain the product, wipe the internal liner clean with a damp cloth after each session. Ensure the unit is completely dry before long-term storage to prevent odors. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents on the water-resistant outer fabric.
