Saphena anti-embolism stockings are designed to help reduce the threat of blood clots forming in your legs by providing graduated compression. This compression is strongest at the ankle and reduces further up the leg, forcing blood back towards the heart. By compressing surface veins, arteries, and muscles, these stockings create narrower blood channels, increasing arterial pressure and reducing blood pooling in the feet. As a Class 1 medical device, Saphena stockings conform to the latest European Standards for graduated compression and comply with the Medical Device Directive. The compression profile is 18mmHg at the ankle and 14mmHg at the calf, in line with British Standard 7672:1993. Featuring an anti-slip grip on the bottom of the foot, these stockings offer enhanced safety on slippery surfaces like laminate or wooden flooring, reducing the risk of falls. This is the thigh-high version, with below-the-knee options also available. They are machine washable and made in the United Kingdom. Material composition: 85% Nylon, 15% Elastane. Available in White.
