Full details
The New Balance Tekela V5 Team TF is designed for adult football players seeking superior ball control and dynamic movement on turf surfaces. Its primary benefit is the combination of a precision-focused upper and a cushioned EVA midsole, providing both technical accuracy and lasting comfort during high-intensity matches. Note that as a specialist turf trainer, it is optimized primarily for artificial grass or carpet surfaces rather than soft, muddy natural ground.

FAQs
Can I use these boots on normal grass?
These trainers are designed for artificial turf surfaces. Using them on natural grass may result in poor traction.
Are these boots waterproof?
They are constructed from durable polyester but are not considered waterproof. Avoid deep puddles.
How should I clean the knitted collar?
Use a damp cloth with mild soap to spot clean the collar; avoid heavy scrubbing which may damage the elastic fibers.
Are these suitable for indoor football?
These are turf (TF) trainers. While they can be worn on indoor surfaces, the tread is specifically optimized for synthetic grass.
How do I ensure the right fit?
The Tekela V5 features a compressive fit. Ensure the ankle collar sits snug and there is no significant space at the toe.
Troubleshooting
Accumulation of turf pellets in the tread
Use a soft-bristled brush to gently dislodge trapped turf pellets from the rotation-focused tread pattern.
Feeling of slippage inside the boot
Ensure the knitted collar is pulled tight and that the laces are adjusted to fully secure the midfoot.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent ball touch and control
- Secure lockdown with stretchy collar
- Effective cushioning for hard surfaces
- Optimized for quick rotational movements
Cons
- Not suitable for soft, natural grass pitches
- Polyester upper may require regular cleaning to maintain grip
- Specific fit profile may not suit all foot shapes
Setup, Compatibility & Care
For optimal performance, ensure your boots are correctly laced to complement the compressive collar. Because the Tekela V5 Team TF features a specialized tread, it is exclusively recommended for artificial turf (TF) surfaces; use on natural grass or hard courts may result in premature wear or sub-optimal traction.
Care Instructions:
- Remove excess dirt or rubber pellets from the outsole after each use.
- Wipe the polyester upper with a damp cloth; avoid submerging in water.
- Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources to prevent material warping.
- Store in a well-ventilated area to maintain freshness.
