Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Sprint Trekker Boots come ready to wear. Simply unlace them sufficiently, slide your foot in, and lace them up, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. The silver-tone eyelets allow for easy lacing adjustment.
Compatibility
These boots are compatible with a wide range of outdoor and casual attire. They pair well with hiking trousers, jeans, and casual shorts. For optimal comfort and moisture wicking, consider wearing them with hiking-specific socks or thick cotton socks.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your nubuck boots:
- Initial Protection: Before first wear, apply a water and stain repellent spray specifically designed for nubuck leather. This creates a protective barrier.
- Regular Cleaning: Use a nubuck brush to gently remove dirt, dust, and loose debris from the surface. For tougher marks, use a nubuck eraser.
- Deep Cleaning: If heavily soiled, use a specialized nubuck cleaner following the product's instructions. Apply with a soft cloth or sponge, then gently brush once dry.
- Drying: If your boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and let them air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Conditioning: While nubuck doesn't require conditioning in the same way as smooth leather, some specialized nubuck conditioning products can help restore its texture and color. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees to help maintain their shape.
For the ReBOTL™ fabric lining, a simple wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient for cleaning.
