Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Select the appropriate drill bit size for the M10 anchor (refer to manufacturer's specifications or packaging for exact size).
- Drill a hole in the concrete or masonry to the required depth (typically slightly deeper than the anchor's length).
- Clean the drilled hole thoroughly to remove all dust and debris.
- Insert the Thunderbolt anchor into the pre-drilled hole.
- Use a wrench or socket to tighten the hexagon head, drawing the anchor into the material and expanding it to create a secure fixing.
Compatibility:
These anchors are designed for use in solid base materials such as:
- Concrete
- Brick
- Concrete blocks
- Solid stone
They are not recommended for use in hollow blocks, plasterboard, or other lightweight materials.
Care:
While the galvanized finish offers excellent corrosion resistance, it's important to ensure the anchors are not exposed to highly corrosive environments for extended periods without protection. Avoid abrasive cleaning methods that could damage the finish. If rust does appear, it may indicate a breach in the protective coating, and the integrity of the fix should be assessed.
