FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for gym workouts?
Yes, they are excellent for treadmill running and light cardio, though they are optimized for road running.
How do I determine my size?
The Reebok Viva Speed uses standard UK sizing. Ensure you select the size that matches your current everyday athletic shoes.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
It is recommended to hand wash these shoes, as machine washing can damage the adhesive and structural foam components.
Are they waterproof?
No, the breathable polyester upper is designed for ventilation and will allow moisture to pass through during heavy rain.
What surface is best for these trainers?
They perform best on flat, paved surfaces like sidewalks, asphalt roads, and treadmill belts.
Does the material stretch over time?
The polyester upper is durable and designed to hold its shape, though it will conform slightly to your foot's natural contours.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort after long periods of wear
Ensure you are using the correct sock thickness and re-check that the laces are evenly tensioned across the midfoot.
Accumulation of dust in the mesh upper
Use a soft, dry cloth or a dedicated shoe brush to gently knock debris out of the polyester weave.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Lightweight construction minimizes fatigue
- Excellent ventilation keeps feet cool
- Soft cushioning ideal for short-to-medium distances
- Reliable traction on various road surfaces
Cons
- Not intended for long-distance endurance running
- Limited to road and light surface use
- Style focuses on entry-level rather than technical performance
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Viva Speed trainers last as long as possible, follow these guidelines:
- Fit Check: Ensure you have a small amount of room in the toe box for natural foot swelling during runs.
- Lacing: Use the secure lace closure to lock your heel in place, but avoid overtightening to maintain healthy circulation.
- Cleaning: Hand wash gently with cold water and a mild detergent. Remove surface dirt with a soft brush after running in muddy conditions.
- Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, as high heat can degrade the EVA foam integrity.
- Replacement: Plan to evaluate the tread wear every 300-400 miles to ensure you still have adequate traction on the road.
