FAQs

Are these pants suitable for snowboarding?

Yes, their durable polyester construction and waterproof performance make them suitable for both skiing and snowboarding.

What does ARED 35/35 mean?

It refers to the brand's proprietary fabric technology, offering a 35,000mm hydrostatic head for water protection and high breathability ratings.

Can I wear leggings underneath these?

You can, but for best results, we recommend technical thermal base layers to improve moisture management.

Are these machine washable?

Yes, but they should be washed with technical detergent on a delicate cycle.

Do these pants have an adjustable waist?

The design features a comfortable fit, but it is recommended to check the specific size guide to ensure a secure fit for your measurements.

Is the material stretchy?

While the design allows for full mobility, the polyester construction focuses more on durability and weatherproofing than high-stretch performance.

Troubleshooting

Water starts soaking into the outer fabric

The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish may need reactivating. Wash the garment and tumble dry on low heat, or apply a spray-on re-proofer.

Feeling damp inside during high-exertion activity

Ensure you are using moisture-wicking base layers. If your base layer is made of cotton, it will trap sweat against your skin.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-level ARED 35/35 waterproofing
  • Excellent breathability for high-exertion activity
  • Robust, windproof construction
  • Warm insulation suited for alpine climates

Cons

  • Requires specific care for waterproof coating maintenance
  • Polyester material may not offer as much stretch as softshell alternatives
  • Limited to specific sizing runs

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your ski pants, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using a technical detergent designed for waterproof garments.
  2. Drying: Air dry whenever possible. If machine drying is necessary, use a low heat setting to reactivate the water-repellent finish.
  3. Avoid Softeners: Never use fabric softeners or heavy detergents, as these can clog the pores of the ARED 35/35 fabric and ruin the breathability.
  4. Storage: Ensure the pants are completely dry before folding or storing to prevent mold and fabric degradation.
