Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your new Nike Phantom 6 Low Elite FG boots are designed for performance right out of the box, but a break-in period is recommended. Wear them for several shorter, lighter training sessions before a full match. This allows the materials, especially the `GripKnit` upper, to mold to your foot's unique shape, ensuring maximum comfort and optimal performance.
Compatibility
These boots feature an `FG` (Firm Ground) soleplate, making them specifically designed for use on natural grass pitches that are firm and relatively dry. They are not recommended for use on artificial turf (AG) or very wet/muddy natural grass, as this can damage the studs and compromise traction and your safety. Using them on unsuitable surfaces may also void any product guarantees.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your Phantom 6 Elite boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud by gently tapping the boots together. Use a soft brush or cloth with lukewarm water to clean the upper and soleplate. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials that can damage the `GripKnit` or synthetic components.
- Drying: Never use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can cause materials to shrink, crack, or become stiff. Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape, then allow them to air dry at room temperature.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A boot bag can protect them from dust and damage during transport.
- Insoles: Remove and air dry insoles separately to prevent odor and moisture buildup.
