Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Your Tissot Gentleman is a self-winding automatic watch. Upon receiving it, if the watch is not running, it may need to be wound manually. Gently turn the crown (located at the 3 o'clock position) clockwise about 30-40 times until you feel some resistance. Avoid over-winding. Once wound, wearing the watch will keep it powered by the motion of your wrist. The date can be adjusted by pulling the crown to the first position and turning it. To set the time, pull the crown to the furthest position.
Compatibility:
This watch is designed with standard lug widths, making it compatible with a wide range of aftermarket watch straps. The integrated quick-release system on the included stainless steel bracelet allows for tool-free strap changes, provided the new strap also uses the quick-release spring bars or has compatible end links.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Water Resistance: While rated at 100 meters, it's advisable to rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly after exposure to saltwater or chlorinated water. Have the water resistance checked periodically, especially if the crown has been used underwater.
- Avoid Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic sources (e.g., speakers, refrigerators) to maintain accuracy, although the Nivachron™ hairspring offers enhanced resistance.
