FAQs

Is this jacket waterproof?

The jacket has a water-repellent coating suitable for light rain or snow, but it is not fully waterproof or seam-sealed for heavy storms.

What is Warmloft insulation?

Warmloft is a synthetic insulation technology developed by Regatta that traps air to keep you warm while remaining soft and lightweight.

Can I wear this while hiking in the mountains?

While warm, it is designed for casual everyday use. For high-intensity mountain hiking, a more technical, breathable shell may be preferred.

How should I wash the jacket?

Wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Always check the internal care label for specific instructions regarding temperature and drying.

Does the jacket have a hood?

This specific model features a high-standing collar for neck protection, but it does not include a hood.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking through the outer fabric

The DWR finish may have worn off. Apply a wash-in or spray-on water-repellent treatment to restore performance.

Zipper sticking or becoming difficult to pull

Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper track. If it remains difficult, clean the track with a soft brush and consider using a dry zipper lubricant.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Stylish cable-knit design for a modern look
  • Warmloft insulation provides effective thermal regulation
  • Water-repellent coating protects against light precipitation
  • Wind-resistant design features like high collar and tight cuffs

Cons

  • Not intended for extreme wet weather or heavy downpours
  • Limited to casual winter use rather than high-performance trekking
  • Polyester material requires careful heat management during washing

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your jacket remains in top condition, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can strip the water-repellent coating.
  2. Drying: Air dry whenever possible. If machine drying, use the lowest heat setting to prevent damage to the insulation and synthetic fibers.
  3. Re-proofing: If you notice that water no longer beads on the surface after a season of use, consider using a specialized DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray to restore the water-resistant properties.
  4. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place on a hanger to maintain the shape of the quilted structure.
