The HOKA Hopara is a high-performance outdoor sandal designed for adventure seekers who need reliable traction in both wet and dry environments. It serves as an ideal hybrid for hikers who require the breathability of a sandal with the rugged protection of a hiking shoe, though users should note that the aggressive design is strictly focused on trail utility rather than casual everyday streetwear.

They are designed to be worn without socks, especially in wet conditions, but you can wear them with moisture-wicking synthetic socks if preferred for added protection.
Use warm water and a soft brush to remove dirt. Avoid using harsh chemicals or machine washing, as this can degrade the specialized adhesives.
HOKA sizing is generally consistent with standard athletic footwear, but because of the adjustable lacing, you have some flexibility in finding your preferred lockdown.
They are water-ready, meaning they are designed to get wet and drain quickly, rather than being waterproof.
Ensure the lace lock is pushed firmly down and tucked into the integrated garage to prevent accidental loosening.
While the cutouts aid drainage, ensure the lace adjustment is tight enough to prevent large gaps; if debris enters, remove the sandal and rinse to flush out small stones.
To achieve the best fit, pull the quick-lace system until the shoe conforms to the foot, ensuring the neoprene collar rests gently against the ankle. After heavy use in muddy or salt water, rinse the sandals thoroughly with fresh water to remove debris that could degrade the materials. Allow them to air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area—avoid direct heat sources like heaters or intense sunlight, as these can warp the EVA midsole or damage the synthetic upper.
