FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for basketball?
While inspired by basketball heritage, this model is designed as a lifestyle sneaker for casual wear rather than intense sports activity.
How do I determine my size?
The Jordan 1 Low generally fits true to size. If you prefer a looser fit or wear thick socks, you might consider sizing up by a half size.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
No. Machine washing can damage the leather and the adhesives holding the sole together. Always clean by hand.
Is the leather genuine?
Yes, the product is constructed using leather to ensure durability and a premium feel.
Does the ankle support feel restrictive?
No, the low-top design is specifically crafted to be less restrictive than high-top variants, offering more freedom of movement.
Troubleshooting
Visible creasing on the toe box
This is normal with leather footwear. Use a shoe tree when not wearing the shoes to minimize deep set-in creases.
Difficulty keeping the white areas clean
Use a specialized sneaker cleaning kit with a soft-bristled brush for the white rubber outsole and leather panels.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Timeless, iconic design suitable for diverse outfits
- Lightweight heel cushioning for daily comfort
- High-quality leather material ensures durability
- Breathable design due to perforated detailing
Cons
- Leather requires regular maintenance to prevent creasing
- Limited lateral support compared to high-top basketball shoes
- Light-coloured elements may show dirt more easily
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Jordan 1 Low trainers stay in top condition:
- Fitting: Ensure you lace the shoes snugly but not overly tight to prevent premature creasing of the leather across the forefoot.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the leather surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild soap solution for tougher stains, avoiding harsh detergents.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, which can fade the brown leather over time. Use shoe trees to maintain the shape.
- Protection: Apply a leather-specific protector spray before the first wear to guard against dirt and moisture.
