The Derry Bold Thermostatic Radiator Valve and Lockshield set is an ideal choice for homeowners looking to upgrade their heating system with precise temperature control and a modern aesthetic. Designed for durability, this set ensures your radiators operate efficiently by regulating heat output in individual rooms, though users should ensure their existing pipework diameter is compatible with the 15mm standard valve fittings before purchase.

No, this specific model is designed for 15mm standard pipework.
Installation involves draining the heating system, which can be complex. If you are not confident in your plumbing skills, we recommend hiring a qualified heating engineer.
The lockshield is used to balance your heating system by restricting the water flow, ensuring each radiator receives the correct amount of heat relative to the others.
Yes, the set includes both the thermostatic head and the matching lockshield.
Clean the valves with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive chemicals to maintain the grey finish.
Check if the internal pin is stuck. Remove the TRV head and gently press the pin; if it does not spring back, apply a small amount of lubricant or gently wiggle it until it moves freely.
Ensure the nut is tightened securely. If it continues to leak, turn off the heating, drain the pipe, and re-apply PTFE tape to the olive and connection threads.
To install this set, ensure your heating system is drained down to prevent leaks. The valves are designed for standard 15mm pipes, which are common in most UK heating installations. It is highly recommended to use PTFE tape on threaded connections to ensure a watertight seal. For maintenance, periodically wipe the valve head with a soft, dry cloth to keep the finish clean. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive scouring pads, as these may damage the grey coating. If you notice the valve becoming stiff, ensure the pin under the sensor head is moving freely, as a stuck pin is a common cause of reduced heating performance.
