While designed for hiking, they are comfortable enough for varied walking on pavement, though the tread is optimized for soft or uneven trail surfaces.
If water beads off the surface of the shoe, the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating is active. If the fabric wets out, you may need to reapply a DWR spray.
Yes, it is recommended to wear them for short walks before embarking on a long-distance hike to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape.
Yes, the standard liners are removable and can be replaced with your preferred custom orthotics.
Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause the synthetic materials to fade or degrade over time.
Adjust the SensiFit lacing system to ensure a tighter wrap around the midfoot and utilize a 'runner's loop' at the top eyelet to secure the heel.
Ensure the shoes are laced correctly to prevent water from running down the tongue, and check that the waterproof membrane has not been punctured by sharp debris.
To ensure your SALOMON Exeo 2 GTX shoes last for multiple seasons, avoid submerging them in deep water unnecessarily. After a muddy hike, remove excess dirt with a soft brush once the mud has dried. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can degrade the waterproof membrane and adhesives. If the interior gets wet, air dry them naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, as high heat can warp the EVA midsole. For optimal performance, pair these shoes with moisture-wicking synthetic or merino wool hiking socks rather than cotton, which holds moisture and increases the risk of blisters.
