The PUMA Deviate NITRO 4 is a high-performance trainer engineered for adult runners seeking maximum speed and responsiveness on tempo runs or race day. It features advanced NITROFOAM cushioning and a carbon composite propulsion plate, making it ideal for those who prioritize energy return and efficiency. However, because of its performance-oriented, neutral geometry and high stack height, it may require an adjustment period for runners transitioning from more traditional, low-profile footwear.

While the shoe is highly comfortable, its propulsion technology and higher stack height are generally optimized for runners who have a developed gait and are looking for speed.
The shoe features an 8mm heel-to-toe drop, which is a standard drop that accommodates a wide variety of running styles.
These trainers are designed for road use. While PUMAGRIP offers great traction, they are not intended for technical, rocky, or uneven off-road trails.
This model is built for neutral runners. If you require significant medial support for overpronation, you may want to consult with a footwear professional.
Generally, high-performance running shoes retain their responsive qualities for 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and body weight.
Try a different lacing technique, such as the window lacing method, to relieve pressure on the midfoot.
Use the extra eyelet at the top of the lacing system to create a runner's loop (heel lock) for a more secure fit.
To ensure optimal performance, ensure the laces are adjusted to provide a secure lockdown across the midfoot without restricting blood flow. These shoes feature a standard, regular-width fit; runners with wider foot shapes may find the reinforced mesh structure snug.
